...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR 
PORTIONS OF WEST TEXAS...

.An upper trough has moved over the region today. Strong westerly
winds will mix down west of the dryline resulting in high winds 
from southeast New Mexico down towards the Big Bend. A tightening 
surface pressure gradient east of the dryline will contribute to 
high winds across portions of the Permian Basin.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/
THIS EVENING...

* TIMING...This afternoon and evening.

* WINDS...West 35 to 55 mph with gusts to around 75 mph.

* IMPACTS...Winds will be particularly hazardous at higher
  elevations where the strongest winds are likely to occur. Be
  especially careful driving in these mountainous areas as these
  winds could make driving difficult for motorists driving high
  profile vehicles such as campers, vans and tractor trailers.
  Airplanes flying over the mountains may experience severe 
  turbulence. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

...WIND ADVISORY EXPIRED FOR PORTIONS OF WEST TEXAS...

.An upper trough continues to affect the region, maintaining very
windy conditions through the Guadalupe Mountains. These very windy
conditions are expected to continue in the Guadalupe Mountains  
through Friday afternoon. Across the Southeast New Mexico Plains 
and West Texas, winds have diminished this evening as a result of
stabilization and a weakened surface pressure gradient.
