Wind speeds look to reach and exceed 20 mph sustained over portions of the region as relative humidity drops to near 5 to 10 percent areawide resulting in critical fire weather conditions. Conditions will improve this evening as winds diminish and humidity increases. Dry air will be present across western portions of the area on Saturday with winds in the Guadalupe Mountains over 20 mph during the afternoon.
