...High winds expected through Guadalupe Pass late tonight into
early Friday morning...

.A strong cold front will pass through west Texas and
southeastern New Mexico this evening. As high pressure builds in
over the region, gap winds are expected through Guadalupe Pass
beginning late tonight and will continue until a few hours after
sunrise Friday morning.

Temperatures will fall Friday night into Saturday morning across
the northern Permian Basin, Marfa Plateau, and Davis Mountains of
west Texas as well as portions of southeastern New Mexico.
Subfreezing conditions are forecast for these areas by sunrise
Saturday morning.

Mexico and the Permian Basin tonight...

...High winds expected through Guadalupe Pass late tonight into

New Mexico tonight.  Northerly winds of 25 to 35 mph, and gusts 
as high as 50 mph, are expected to occur over the Permian Basin.

...A High Wind Warning remains in effect for the Guadalupe Pass 
into this morning...

...A Freeze Watch is in effect for Southeast New Mexico and much
of West Texas Saturday morning...

A strong cold front passed through the region overnight with a gusty 
north wind.  This has resulted in high wind through the Guadalupe 
Pass and a High Wind Warning remains in effect until mid morning. 
Though still gusty... wind speeds have fallen enough across the 
plains to allow the Wind Advisory to be allowed to expire. Wind 
speeds will continue to slowly fall through the day becoming light
tonight.

However the post frontal conditions of light wind... mostly clear 
skies... and a dry airmass will combine to make the first freeze of 
the season possible tonight over parts of the area.  The Freeze 
Watch for tonight has been expanded.  Overnight temperatures may 
fall to or below freezing tonight over Southeast New Mexico... most 
of the Permian Basin... as well as the Davis Mountains and Marfa 
Plateau.
