AFTERNOON...

.Yet another upper level storm system is bringing strong winds to
the region today. The Guadalupe Mountains will see the highest 
winds, but strong winds will also spread east into the plains. 
Winds will likely diminish soon after sunset. Strong winds are 
again expected tomorrow afternoon across the Guadalupe Mountains.

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a High
Wind Watch, which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday
evening. 

* TIMING...This afternoon and evening for the warning. Friday
  morning through Friday evening for the watch.

* WINDS...West 40 to 50 mph with gusts near 65 mph today. West 35
  to 45 mph with gusts near 60 mph Friday.

* IMPACTS...Severe turbulence near the mountains will be 
  hazardous for light low flying aircraft. These winds could 
  make driving difficult for high profile vehicles. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.
