PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even 
higher than predicted.  The National Weather Service will monitor 
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as 
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles 
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe 
passage.

* At 8:45 PM Friday the stage was 13.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Saturday
  afternoon and crest near 29.1 feet Tuesday morning. Additional
  rises are possible.
* Impact:  At 29.4 feet...The floor of the gage shed begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...At this height, several homes along Burgan 
  Grove Road are flooded.
* Impact:  At 22.4 feet...At this level, Twin Rivers Bridge Road must 
  be closed.
* Impact:  At 20.5 feet...Burgan Grove Road begins flooding near 
  Cottage Grove Road, cutting off access to Cottage Grove Road.  
  Highway W near Hoene Spring is closed as water crosses the 
  pavement.
* Impact:  At 20.0 feet...South Byrnesville Road goes under water near
  this level.
* Impact:  At 19.1 feet...Backyards and one basement along Burgan 
  Grove Road 2 miles west of House Springs begin to flood.
* Impact:  At 19.0 feet...Dutch Creek Road south of Byrnesville and 
  Byrnesville Road near John McKeever Road north of Byrnesville begin
  to flood.
* Impact:  At 18.1 feet...State Highway BB southeast of Cedar Hill 
  will be closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 18.0 feet...Cedar Hill Road at Cedar Hill and Klondike 
  Road south of Cedar Hill begin to flood near this height.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Sunday morning 
  and crest near 28.4 feet Tuesday morning. Additional rises are
  possible.
* Impact:  At 26.9 feet...Parking lot at Mistlers Oak Furniture begins
  to flood.
* Impact:  At 26.6 feet...Dickie-Bub True Value Farm and Home begins 
  to flood at floor level.
* Impact:  At 26.4 feet...The Dollar General store begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 25.6 feet...Water enters the lift station behind Dollar 
  General store.
* Impact:  At 25.2 feet...State Highway AT floods near the 
  intersection with State Highway O near the I-44 bridge over the 
  Bourbeuse River.
* Impact:  At 24.5 feet...Water begins flooding the streets and 
  property of the Bourbeuse Camp Trailer Park at Missouri Highway AT 
  and U.S. Highway 50.
* Impact:  At 24.2 feet...Water enters the upper floor at Crystal Ice 
  and Fuel.  Also, North Bend Loop Road south of Union begins 
  flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 23.6 feet...Lower floor of Crystal Ice and Fuel begin to
  flood.
* Impact:  At 23.5 feet...Parking lot at East Main Street and East 
  State Street is covered.
* Impact:  At 23.4 feet...East Main Street is closed.
* Impact:  At 23.0 feet...Old Rock Road begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 22.5 feet...Water begins covering East Main Street.
* Impact:  At 22.3 feet...The lower quarter of the parking lot at the 
  Dollar General and True Value stores is flooded.
* Impact:  At 21.9 feet...Water begins covering Old County Farm Road.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Near this height, water begins covering 
  Highway O between Highway AM and American Inn Road.
* Impact:  At 19.8 feet...Near this height, Missouri State Route UU is
  closed in both directions.
* Impact:  At 17.0 feet...Flat Creek backs up to Smeltzer's Park.

* From Saturday evening to Tuesday afternoon.
* At 9:30 PM Friday the stage was 5.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Saturday 
  evening and crest near 21.6 feet Sunday evening. Additional
  rises are possible.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Water begins flooding the lodge rooms at The
  Rafting Company near this height.  Water begins backing into the 
  natural entrance of Onondaga Cave near this height.  However...if 
  the inflow from the Huzzah is low...it will take a higher 
  Steelville stage to flood the cave.
* Impact:  At 20.0 feet...A levee along the left bank upsstream of the
  Highway 19 bridge is overtopped near this height, flooding the 
  campgrounds at Lucky Clover Resort.
* Impact:  At 18.5 feet...Campgrounds at Bird's Nest Lodge begin to 
  flood.
* Impact:  At 18.0 feet...The lower basic loop of the campground at 
  Onondaga Cave State Park begins to flood near this height.  If 
  inflow from the Huzzah is low...this campground flooding will 
  require a higher stage at Steelville.
* Impact:  At 16.9 feet...Near this height, Missouri State Route O 
  will be closed in both directions.
* Impact:  At 16.5 feet...Near this height, Missouri Route TT will be 
  closed in both directions.
* Impact:  At 14.0 feet...Near this height, roads to the Lucky Clover 
  campgrounds begin to flood.
* Impact:  At 12.5 feet...The entrance gate to the campground at 
  Onondaga Cave State Park off Highway H begins to flood near this 
  height.
* Impact:  At 12.0 feet...Agricultural and recreational areas along 
  the right bank flood.  At Adventure Outdoors west of Steelville, 
  the store begins to flood near this height.
* Impact:  At 9.0 feet...At Adventure Outdoors west of Steelville, the
  campgrounds become flooded near this height.

* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Saturday 
  afternoon and crest near 30.7 feet Monday morning. Additional
  rises are possible.
* Impact:  At 29.0 feet...The main office at the Arapaho Campground 
  begins flooding.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...Springer Road off of Sappington Bridge Road 
  begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 25.0 feet...Sappington Bridge boat access parking area 
  and restroom begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 22.0 feet...Near this height, Missouri Route W will be 
  closed in both directions beyond Route JJ.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Sappington Bridge Road just north of the 
  Meramec River bridge begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 18.5 feet...Near this height, Missouri Route N will be 
  closed in both directions.
* Impact:  At 17.3 feet...The Onondaga Cave State Park picnic shelter 
  begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 17.0 feet...At this height the entire Arapaho campground
  will be under water.
* Impact:  At 15.6 feet...The basic loop of the Onondaga Cave State 
  Park campground begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 14.5 feet...At this height the Arapaho Campground will 
  evacuate campers.  This campground is about 8.5 river miles 
  downstream from the gage.  About 14.3 miles upstream of the gage...
  Cave Road access to Ozark Outdoors begins flooding near this 
  height.
* Impact:  At 14.0 feet...The main entrance road to the Meramec State 
  Park campground begins flooding...blocking acess to cabins 1-8...
  the picnic and playground areas, and the Wilderness Trailhead 
  parking lot.  At Onondaga Cave State Park...the primary entrance to
  the campground is closed and the secondary entrance is used near 
  this height.
* Impact:  At 13.5 feet...Cave Road begins flooding at Onondaga Cave 
  State Park near this height.
* Impact:  At 12.0 feet...The main entrance gate at Onondaga Cave 
  State Park begins flooding near this height.  This may eventually  
  force the park to use the rear entrance as the primary entrance to 
  the park.
* Impact:  At 11.5 feet...A small bridge in the back of Meramec State 
  Park park is flooded, cutting the park in two.  If the river 
  continues to rise...park officials will evacuate the campgrounds at
  this point.
* Impact:  At 11.0 feet...Right Bank begins to overflow flooding 
  wooded areas.

* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Saturday evening
  and crest near 30.1 feet Wednesday morning. 
* Impact:  At 29.7 feet...The clubhouse at the St. Louis Skeet and 
  Trap Club begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 29.5 feet...Near this height, the Graphic Packaging 
  International Company begins flooding at Denton Road and Jefferson 
  Street.
* Impact:  At 28.9 feet...The Olympic Shooting Facility at the St. 
  Louis Skeet and Trap Club is flooded.
* Impact:  At 28.8 feet...Route 66 (Missouri Route O) is closed in 
  both directions from just east of Pacific to Six Flags Road in 
  Allenton.
* Impact:  At 27.5 feet...East Osage Street (Route 66) is closed.
* Impact:  At 27.2 feet...Missouri State Route O west of Robertsville 
  State Park begins flooding near this level.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...20 to 30 residences become subject to 
  flooding.  Major flooding begins.
* Impact:  At 26.0 feet...Highways F & O begin to flood, cutting off 
  access to Pacific from the south.
* Impact:  At 25.5 feet...Denton Road from the Industrial Park south 
  is closed.
* Impact:  At 25.0 feet...East Congress between Columbus and Olive are
  flooded in City of Pacific.
* Impact:  At 24.4 feet...Highway F & O at Brush Creeks is flooded and
  closed.
* Impact:  At 23.5 feet...Water begins flooding the grounds at the St.
  Louis Skeet and Trap Club east of Pacific.
* Impact:  At 23.0 feet...The lift station property at East Congress 
  and Elm Street begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 22.6 feet...Four houses near the gage begin to flood at 
  this stage.
* Impact:  At 22.0 feet...Jefferson Street extension is flooded and 
  closed.  Dogpound at the east end of East Congress Street begins to
  flood.
* Impact:  At 19.4 feet...Private road under the Highway F bridge 
  becomes flooded at this height.

* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Saturday 
  afternoon and crest near 41.4 feet Wednesday morning. Additional
  rises are possible.
* Impact:  At 41.5 feet...Near this height, floodwaters will reach the
  floors of the utility buildings at the wastewater treatment plant, 
  including the generator shelter.
* Impact:  At 40.2 feet...Highway 109 at Eureka Senior High School is 
  closed.
* Impact:  At 40.0 feet...The right bank begins to overflow.
* Impact:  At 35.0 feet...Lighthouse Storage property begins to flood.
  Shelters and roads within Route 66 State Park are also flooded at 
  this level.
* Impact:  At 34.0 feet...Numerous homes on West Spring River Ranch 
  Road begin flooding at or slightly above this level.
* Impact:  At 32.5 feet...At this height, about 12 houses on Willman 
  Road start flooding the main floors.  On the river's north side, 
  another 8 homes along West Spring River Ranch Road begin flooding.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...The lowest house on West Spring River Ranch 
  Road begins flooding on the lower level.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...The Route 66 State Park road to the 
  equestrian trailhead and to the boat ramp is flooded.
* Impact:  At 25.5 feet...Hornecker Road is closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 24.5 feet...The athletic fields at Eureka Senior High 
  School begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 23.8 feet...Spring River Ranch Road begins flooding near
  this height on the east end.
* Impact:  At 22.0 feet...Willman Road near the Highway 109 bridge 
  becomes inundated and impassable.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Saturday 
  afternoon and crest near 41.2 feet Wednesday morning. Additional
  rises are possible.
* Impact:  At 38.8 feet...Interstate 44 is closed near this height.  
  During the December 2015 flood, this highway was closed from Bowles
  Avenue in Valley Park west to Missouri Route 109 exit in Eureka.
* Impact:  At 38.3 feet...Near this height, Missouri Route 30 (Gravois
  Road) must be closed in both directions in St. Louis County.
* Impact:  At 38.0 feet...Railroad bridge just downstream of the 
  Highway 141 bridge begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 37.8 feet...MODOT must take preventative action to keep 
  I-44 lanes open west of Highway 141.
* Impact:  At 36.0 feet...Water begins covering the BNSF rails at this
  height.
* Impact:  At 35.0 feet...The final flood gate through the BNSF 
  railroad path is closed at this height.
* Impact:  At 34.0 feet...Close Gravois Road at Ware Street and at 
  Water Street.  This impact level may vary depending the crest 
  difference of the Mississippi River at St. Louis from 30.8 ft, the 
  March 2008 crest.
* Impact:  At 33.0 feet...Old Highway 141 is closed at Gravois Road 
  and at Gravois Bluffs Blvd.  This impact level may vary depending 
  on the crest difference of the Mississippi River at St. Louis from 
  30.8 ft, the March 2008 crest.
* Impact:  At 30.0 feet...Allen Road at Old Highway 141 is closed.  
  This impact level may vary depending the crest difference of the 
  Mississippi River at St. Louis from 30.8 ft, the March 2008 crest.
* Impact:  At 29.0 feet...The intersection of 141 and North Highway 
  drive at I-44 is closed above this level.  In Fenton, the following
  roads are closed at this level:  all of Yarnell Road, Riverside 
  Drive at Wolfner Drive, Fabricator Drive at Headland Drive, Soccer 
  Park Road at the truck stop, Rudder Road at Fabick Drive, and 
  Larkin Williams Road at Ferry Street.
* Impact:  At 28.7 feet...The southbound lanes of Highway 141 at I-44 
  will be closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...The flood gate at Vance Road in Valley Park 
  is closed at this height.
* Impact:  At 27.5 feet...The northbound lanes of Highway 141 at I-44 
  will be closed near this height.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...The flood gate at St. Louis Avenue in Valley
  Park is closed at this height.
* Impact:  At 25.0 feet...Major flooding begins.  At this level, 
  houses along Rock Alva Drive (next to Tapawingo Golf Club) start to
  flood.  Also, Fenton Greenway Park is flooded.
* Impact:  At 24.0 feet...Water reaches top of boat ramp at Valley 
  Park Public Fishing Access.  Also, the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park 
  begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 23.5 feet...Riverfront parking area of Minnie Ha Ha Park
  across the river from Fenton begins flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 21.9 feet...Yarnell Road is closed at Riverside Drive.  
  Larkin Williams is closed at Riverside Golf Club entrance.  In 
  Valley Park...Tree Court Industrial Road begins flooding between 
  Marshall Road and Scarlet Oak Boulevard.  Also...the golf course at
  Family Golf and Learning Center and the Kirkwood Athletic 
  Association ball fields begin flooding near this height.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Water enters the SW corner of Larkin 
  Williams and Yarnell Road intersection through a stormwater grate.
  In Valley Park...Marshall Road begins to flood between Tree Court 
  Industrial Road and Timberview Road.
* Impact:  At 20.5 feet...Marshall Road begins to flood.
* Impact:  At 20.2 feet...Portions of Fenton begin to flood.
* Impact:  At 19.5 feet...Buder Park and the recreation park at the 
  water plant floods.
* Impact:  At 16.0 feet...Flood Stage.  Minor flooding begins.  Buder

* At  7:30 PM Saturday the stage was 20.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river has crested for a second time today and is forecast to 
  continue falling to below flood stage tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact:  At 21.0 feet...Near this height, water begins covering 
  Highway O between Highway AM and American Inn Road.
* Impact:  At 19.8 feet...Near this height, Missouri State Route UU is
  closed in both directions.
* Impact:  At 17.0 feet...Flat Creek backs up to Smeltzer's Park.
