  The Humboldt River Near Elko.
* until Tuesday...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:15 PM Monday the stage was 8.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is fluctuating above and below flood
  stage and will continue to do so through Tuesday.
* Impact...at 8.0 feet...This is flood stage. Minor lowland flooding 
  occurs up and downstream of elko. Very minor flooding from backed 
  up storm drains begins in elko along water street north of the 
  river and front street south of the river, between 1st and 9th 
  streets and lamoille highway.

For the Upper Humboldt, including Elko, increased  
flows are occurring, with river levels forecast to 
slowly decrease.

The overall trend is downward on the Humboldt River in 
Elko. However, temperatures will warm during the day, 
allowing for snow to melt in the higher elevations. 
With an already saturated ground, any water will runoff 
into the swollen Humboldt River, which may temporarily 
cause the river stage to hit minor flood stage. This 
is most likely to occur during the overnight hours 
due to daytime heating effects.

The Flood Warning is cancelled for
  The Humboldt River Near Elko.
* At  9:15 AM Tuesday the stage was 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to 5.7 feet by early 
  tomorrow.
* Impact...at 6.5 feet...This is near bankfull throughout the reach, 
  no flooding occurs. This is about 1350 cfs or about a 2 year flood 
  which means a 50 percent chance in a given year.
