...STRONG AND GUSTY SOUTH WINDS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...

.A tight gradient between surface high pressure east of Florida
and an area of low pressure and associated cold front moving
through the Southern Plains will result in increasing south winds
this afternoon with sustained winds between 20 and 25 mph. In 
addition, a belt of strong winds within a few thousand feet of the
surface will result in gusts occasionally over 30 mph, especially
over the coastal counties and parishes. Winds are expected to 
subside early this evening, but could remain elevated near the 
immediate coast through mid evening.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* TIMING...Strong and gusty south winds over coastal Southeast 
  Texas and Southwest Louisiana are expected to subside by early 
  morning. Winds are expected to then increase over much of the 
  area along and south of I-10 and into parts of East Central 
  Louisiana by noon. 

* WINDS...Increasing to 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts to 
  between 35 and 40 mph. 

* IMPACTS...Difficult driving conditions for high profile 
  vehicles, especially on east-west and elevated roadways. Loose 
  lawn objects along with trash cans will be blown around. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 20 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
