...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON...

.Hot temperatures will once again impact western and north central
Nebraska this afternoon. The combination of heat, low relative
humidity, gusty southerly winds and the threat for dry lightning,
will lead to critical fire weather conditions across the eastern
Nebraska panhandle, portions of the Sandhills and north central
Nebraska.

The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Red
Flag Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ this
afternoon to 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ this evening. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 204.Fire weather zone 
  206.Fire weather zone 208. 

* WIND...South at 10 to 20 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH. 

* HUMIDITY...15 to 20 percent.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Dry lightning is a threat initially.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.
