The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  A Dam Failure in...
  Eastern Franklin County in southwestern Mississippi...

* Until 330 PM CST

* At 1035 AM CST, Emergency Manager reported that the failure of
  Gayle Evan Lake Dam is highly possible in the next several hours.
  Highway 84 was flooded earlier this morning from heavy rainfall
  and some discharge from the Dam. There is significant damage to
  the Dam. Essentially, a beaver dam is holding back most of the
  water. If the dam fails, the potential for five to seven feet of
  water below the Dam could occur causing flooding on Highway 84
  with anywhere from four to five feet of water. Those driving along
  Highway 84 need to be aware in the McCall Creek area. 


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
