...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following rivers in western and southern
Indiana...
White River...Wabash River...
.Additional lowland flooding will develop along the Wabash River in
western Indiana and the White River in southern Indiana during the
weekend. At this time significant flooding is not expected. High
water will be typical of January affecting low agricultural fields
... river parks and possibly a few local roads.
Recent rains ranged from a tenth of an inch in southwest to nearly
two inches in east central Indiana. The combination of freezing
rain and rain will fall during the weekend changing to all rain by
sunset Sunday. Total melted precipitation by Monday is expected to
ranged from a quarter on an inch in north central Indiana to nearly
an inch in extreme southwest Indiana.
Elevated river levels and lowland flooding will continue through
much of next week.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

Wabash River...White River...
.Lowland flooding continued along portions of the Wabash River in
western Indiana from Lafayette to Montezuma. Minor flooding will
develop along the Wabash River in the Terre Haute and Hutsonville
areas and along portions of the White River in southwest Indiana
by Monday.
At this time significant flooding is not anticipated. High water was
typical of January affecting low fallow agricultural fields ... river
parks and possibly a few local roads.
Rainfall of nearly an inch had fallen in portions of south central
and southwest Indiana from Friday afternoon through late Saturday
morning. Freezing rain and rain fell along and north of the I-70
corridor. Amounts ranged from a tenth of an inch to slightly more
than a quarter on an inch.
Additional melted precipitation of a tenth to over one-half of an
inch is possible by Monday morning. The heaviest rain is expected in
southwest Indiana. As a result, elevated river levels and lowland
flooding will continue through much of next week in western and
southern Indiana.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
