...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood 
Warning for a portion of the following river in southwest Indiana...

  White River...

.Lowland flooding is developing along the lower White River in
southwest Indiana, and is expected to begin in the Edwardsport
area Wednesday evening and last into the weekend. Significant
flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect some local and state
roads...low agricultural land and some river parks.

Rainfall of up to 1.50 inches since Sunday evening fell in the
southern counties of central Indiana. Dry conditions are expected
now through Thursday.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* At 7:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 9.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow late evening and 
  continue to rise to near 16.3 feet by Thursday evening.  The river 
  will fall below flood stage by Saturday morning.
* At 16.0 feet...Old Vincennes Road and residential property in this 
  area begin to flood.  Flooding of low agricultural fields occurs 
  along portions of the river.

.Lowland flooding will continue in the vicinity of Wheeler Hollow on
the Muscatatuck River into Wednesday, and along the lower White
River into early next week, as a result of rainfall since
Sunday evening of up to 1.5 inches. All points on the White
River are on the rise.  Widespread flooding is not expected.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  Friday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage 
  Saturday afternoon.
* At 18.0 feet...Lowland flooding begins to flood several Pike County 
  roads.  Many of the following county roads begin to flood around 
  this level...east of SR 57 include CR 750N...CR 600N and CR 1000E.
  Pike county road subject to flooding west of SR 57 include...CR 250

along rivers in southern Indiana.  Rainfall of up to about 1.5
inches fell in the area Sunday night through Tuesday morning.
