warning for the following rivers in Illinois...

  Embarras River at Lawrenceville affecting Lawrence County.

.Synopsis...
Heavy rain earlier in the week has resulted in significant rises on
the lower portions of the Embarras River. Rainfall amounts of around 
3/4 inch are likely Thursday and Thursday night, which is expected
to push the river above flood stage around Lawrenceville. 

The following forecasts are based on observed precipitation, soil 
moisture conditions, and forecast precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons with interests along this river need to prepare for flooding.

  The Embarras River at Lawrenceville.
* From late Thursday night until late Monday night.
* At  745 AM Wednesday the stage was 29.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 30 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to hover just below flood stage 
  much of tonight and Thursday. It will rise above flood stage late 
  Thursday evening, and continue to rise to near 32.2 feet by Saturday 
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by Monday evening.
* Impact...At 33.0 feet, Lumber Mill Road is inundated.
