* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Montgomery County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 1245 AM CDT.

* At 841 PM CDT, local law enforcement officials reported flooding 
  across much of Independence. Up to two inches of rain has already 
  fallen in the last couple of hours. Flash flooding is expected 
  this evening.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Coffeyville, Independence, Caney, Dearing, Tyro, Havana, Bolton,
  Sycamore, Elk City Lake, Independence Airport and Elk City State
  Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY...

At 1040 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported water covering roads 
across the west side of Independence.  Up to three inches of rain 
have already fallen with additional rainfall expected. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Coffeyville, Independence, Caney, Dearing, Tyro, Havana, Bolton,
Sycamore, Elk City Lake, Independence Airport and Elk City State
Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
