* LOCATIONS...The mountains of western North Carolina, especially
  along the higher terrain.

* HAZARDS...Very windy conditions.

* TIMING...Southerly winds will peak this afternoon, tapering off
  gradually by late evening.

* WINDS...Southeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph in
  populated areas. Gusts of 50 mph are possible on ridgetops.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree 
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has
cancelled the Wind Advisory.

The pressure gradient has relaxed over the forecast area during
the past few hours. Gusty winds are likely to persist through 
late tonight and into the overnight, however they should remain 
below advisory criteria.
