The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North central Gosper County in south central Nebraska...
  Southwestern Dawson County in south central Nebraska...

* Until 830 PM CDT

* At 523 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimeates two to three 
  inches of rain have already fallen. Dawson County Emergency 
  Management reported that deep rural ditches were near full. Flash 
  flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Lexington, Johnson Lake and Farnam. 

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT FOR
NORTH CENTRAL GOSPER AND SOUTHWESTERN DAWSON COUNTIES...

At 621 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain of 2 to 5 inches 
had fallen across the warned area. While the heavy rain has ended, 
runoff from the earlier rainfall will create areas of flash flooding.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lexington, Johnson Lake and Farnam. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
