The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern DeKalb County in north central Georgia...
  Southwestern Gwinnett County in north central Georgia...
  Fulton County in north central Georgia...

* Until 300 AM EDT

* At 907 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 
  inches have already fallen over the warned area today, and an 
  additional 1 to 2 inches are possible in the next several hours. 
  Creeks and rivers are already swollen, and additional rises are 
  expected. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Atlanta, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Dunwoody,
  East Point, Duluth, Union City, College Park, Fairburn, Lilburn,
  Chamblee, Norcross, Doraville, Clarkston, Hapeville, Stone
  Mountain, Avondale Estates and Berkeley Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

The heavy rain has ended. In total, 3 to 5 inches of rain fell 
within the warned area over the last 24 hours, with locally higher 
amounts. Rivers and creeks continue to respond, and rises are still 
possible, but the threat of imminent flash flooding has passed.
