* At 745 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbus, Cusseta, Upatoi, Fort Benning/lawson Army Air Fld, Bibb
City, North Fort Benning, Edgewood, Eelbeck/West Fort Benning,
Kenwood, Rose Hill, Avondale, Benning Park, Manta, Columbus
Metropolitan Airport, Saint Marys Hills, Vista Terrace, Green
Island Hills, Benning Hills, Flat Rock and Christopher.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 are possible in the warned

At 906 PM EST, NWS Meteorologists continued to monitor thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of
rain have already fallen since 6 PM EST.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbus, Cusseta, Upatoi, Fort Benning/Lawson Army Air Field, Bibb
City, North Fort Benning, Edgewood, Eelbeck/West Fort Benning,
Kenwood, Rose Hill, Avondale, Benning Park, Manta, Columbus
Metropolitan Airport, Saint Marys Hills, Vista Terrace, Green Island
Hills, Benning Hills, Flat Rock and Christopher.
Additional rainfall amounts of one half to one inch are possible in
the warned area through 11 PM EST when the rain is expected to end.
Even after the rain ends, water levels on larger creeks and streams
may continue to rise causing additional flooding.
