The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Western Val Verde County in south central Texas...
* Until 1015 AM CDT
* At 647 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across parts of Val Verde county west of a Amistad Dam
to Juno line. Up to four inches of rain have already fallen along
the Pecos River Basin and westward. Additional showers and
thunderstorms currently over Mexico will feed into this area over
the next couple of hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Langtry, Comstock, Shumla, Box Canyon-Amistad, Pandale, Pumpville,
Osman, Seminole Canyon State Park and Hackberry Crossing.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM CDT FOR
WESTERN VAL VERDE COUNTY...
At 906 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rains continuing across
the western half of Val Verde County. Radar estimates and ground
reports suggest that up to 6 inches of rain may have fallen about 3
miles northwest of Seminole Canyon State Park since 7 AM CDT. Flash
flooding is likely occurring over secondary roadways near the Pecos
River and its confluence into the Rio Grande. Heavy rains will
advance east along Highway 90 toward Comstock, and Flash Flooding
may begin shortly in these areas.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Langtry, Comstock, Shumla, Box Canyon-Amistad, Pandale, Pumpville,
Osman, Seminole Canyon State Park and Hackberry Crossing.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible over
eastern portions of the warned area through 10 am.
