The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Hudspeth County in southwestern Texas...
* Until 630 PM MDT
* At 334 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Quitman...
and Quitman Canyon.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches is possible in the
warned area.
Many low water crossings exist along FM 192 between Esperanza and
Fort Quitman. Water will likely begin rushing out of local arroyos
and across this roadway shortly as the heavier rains move back in.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
