.Fire danger will increase this afternoon as breezy northwest
winds occur within a very dry airmass.  

A rapid spread of ignited wildland fires will be possible. 
Burning is not recommended today.

The National Weather Service in KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL has
issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 025, 057, 060, 102, 103, 
  104, and 105.Fire weather zones 020, 021, 028, 029, 030, 037, 
  038, 043, 044, 045, 053, and 054. 

* WIND...Sustained northwest winds of 20 mph with higher gusts are
  expected this afternoon. 

* HUMIDITY...Relative humidity values will fall into the low to
  middle 20 percent range. 

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

As temperatures cool through the evening hours and winds diminish
fire weather concerns will continue to wane into the overnight
hours. For Friday and Saturday fire weather conditions will return
to the area as RH values will drop into the upper 20 to lower 30
percent range and winds will climb above 15 to 20 mph.
