...RED FLAG WARNING THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE UPPER NORTH PLATTE
RIVER VALLEY...

.West to southwest winds will increase once again this afternoon.
With dry air already in place across the region and high
temperatures forecast to be in the low 80s, afternoon relative
humidities will fall into the low to mid teens. Expect critical
fire weather conditions to develop as winds increase to 20 to 25 
mph with gusts to 40 mph shortly after noon. Additionally, 
isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms may develop this 
afternoon. Due to the dry air in place, much of the precipitation 
from these storms will not reach the ground, however strong and 
erratic winds are possible with any of these storms.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon today to 6 PM MDT this
evening. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 306.

* WIND...West to southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40
  mph.

* HUMIDITY...12 to 15 percent.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated thunderstorms with strong winds and
  little or no precipitation are forecast this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
