Coleto Creek At Arnold Road Crossing affecting Goliad and Victoria
Counties
.Recent or anticipated heavy rainfall over the aforementioned
river basins will result in river rises above flood stage
during the next few days.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
All persons with interests along the river should monitor
the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary
precautions to protect life and property. River stage forecasts
are based on observed and predicted rainfall. If actual
rainfall varies from forecast values, forecast river stages

* from Saturday afternoon to late Monday night...or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 9:45 AM Friday the stage was 3.3 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 23.7 feet by Sunday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by late Monday morning.
* This forecast does not account for additional impacts from storm
surge and Coleto Creek releases.
* Livestock will be cut off and most roads and low bridges near the
river will be severely flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for The Aransas River near Skidmore.
* from tonight to Tuesday night, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 4:15 PM Friday, the stage was 0.8 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage tonight, continue a rapid rise
Saturday, cresting at 36.8 feet by Saturday night. The river
will the begin a fall, dropping below flood stage Tuesday night.
* At 36.0 feet, The Aransas River escapes its channel into the right
flood plain, and floods several hundred yards for each foot of
rise. This causes massive lowland flooding of crop and pasture land.
Hundreds of livestock are cut off and potentially drowned. The
rating flattens very much as the flow goes into the prevailing,
very flat flood plain.

The Flood Warning continues for the Mission River At Refugio.
* from Saturday morning, until further notice, or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 4 PM Friday, the stage was 2.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage Saturday morning and
continue to rise to near 33.7 feet by Tuesday morning. Then
begin a slow fall for the middle of next week.
* At 35.0 feet, major flooding occurs. Around twenty homes flood in
the northwest section of Refugio, with up to four feet of water in
them. The Mission River exceeds its banks below Refugio, and puts
water under homes on stilts in the River Oaks Subdivision.

* Forecast: Rise above flood stage Saturday morning, crest near
31.3 feet by Sunday morning. The river will fall below flood
stage Tuesday evening.
* at 28.0 feet, major lowland flooding will occur. Water is to the
lowest portion of the new bridge. Low water crossings are inundated
with several feet of water, likely cutting off residents.

* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage Saturday tomorrow evening, and
continue to rise to near 31.9 feet by Wednesday afternoon. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* At 32.2 feet, This is the 100 year flood, or 1 percent chance
frequency flood, established by USGS in October 2006. Widespread
major flooding. At least 40 square blocks of Greens Addition
Subdivision will flood. Areas west of Moody Street between Water
Street and Constitution Street flood. Flooding increases in Riverside
Park and much of the golf course, including the golf cart sheds and
the Texas Zoo. Much of the floodplain near and below the Guadalupe
and San Antonio River confluence are flooded several miles wide.

* At 4 PM Friday, the stage was 10.1 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by Saturday morning, and continue
to rise to near 30.4 feet by early Wednesday afternoon. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* At 28.0 feet, major flooding approaches the river levees near the
San Antonio confluence. Miles of Highway 35 and the flood plain
near it will flood, cutting off many homes, and flooding a fishing
camp near Tivoli. Hundreds of livestock are cutoff and may drown.

* At 34.0 feet, the intersection 150 yards north of the bridge is
threatened. The Aransas River escapes its channel into the right
flood plain, causing massive lowland flooding of crop and pasture
land. Hundreds of livestock are cut off and may drown.

* At 40.0 feet, major flooding occurs. Nearly all of Goliad State Park
floods, except the headquarters area and mission, causing major
damage to the park. Many secondary and primary roads and low bridges
flood. The flow is within a few feet of the lowest residences in the
south edge of Goliad and Highway 183. Hundreds of livestock are cut
off, and can potentially drown in the flood plain below Falls City to
the Guadalupe River confluence.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast: The river will continue rising to near 31 feet early
Thursday morning then begin falling.
* At 31.0 feet Major lowland flooding occurs. The river generally
floods 40 square blocks of Greens Addition Subdivision. Areas west of
Moody Street between Water Street and Constitution Street flood, and
access probably will be limited, including homes near Club Westerner.
Much of the floodplain near and below the Guadalupe and San Antonio
River confluence is flooded for several miles wide.
