* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Given the
  banded nature of snow shield, snowfall will vary greatly with
  one location receiving 4 inches while a neighboring town 
receives 6 to 8 inches.

* TIMING...Snow will develop after midnight, becoming heavy at 
  times toward daybreak into the morning. The snow will taper 
  off Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Snow covered roads will make for hazardous driving

Warning for heavy snow, which is in effect from 3 AM to 4 PM EST 
Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* LOCATIONS...Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts. This 
  includes the cities and towns of Taunton, Brockton, Plymouth, 
  Fall River, New Bedford, Mattapoisett, Foster, Smithfield, 
  Providence, Coventry, West Greenwich, East Greenwich, Warwick, 
  West Warwick, Bristol, Narragansett, Westerly, and Newport.

  Island.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches, mostly on 
  non paved surfaces.

* TIMING...Snow will taper off between 3 pm and 4 pm.

* IMPACTS...Secondary roads and untreated surfaces may become 
  snow covered at times making for hazardous travel conditions.

* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning is issued when an average snowfall of
6 inches or more is expected within a 12 hour period, or for
8 inches or more in a 24 hour period. Travel will be slow at best
on well treated surfaces, and quite difficult on untreated
surfaces. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep
an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of
an emergency.

Advisory, which is in effect from 1 AM to 10 AM EST Saturday.

* LOCATIONS...the higher terrain of western and central
  Massachusetts which includes the counties of Franklin,
  Hampshire, Hampden, northern Worcester and the towns of
  Charlemont, Greenfield, Orange, Barre, Fitchburg, Chesterfield,
  and Blandford

* HAZARD TYPES...bitterly cold wind chills.

* WIND CHILL READINGS...minus 15 to minus 20 degrees.

* TIMING...1 AM TO 10 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous wind chills may quickly produce frostbite 
  on exposed skin.

* WINDS...Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* TEMPERATURES...2 to 15 above.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when wind chill values of -15 to 
-24 degrees are likely for at least 3 hours. Wind chill values 
below -20 degrees can bring about frostbite in as little as 30 
minutes. Outdoor exposure should be limited. If you must be 
outdoors, dress in layers and keep your hands and feet covered to 
protect against frostbite.
