The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Lowndes County in south central Alabama...

* Until 1030 AM CDT

* At 431 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
  area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash
  flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Fort Deposit, Mosses, Hayneville, White Hall, Gordonville,
  Lowndesboro, Benton, Lowndes County Airport, Beechwood, Calhoun,
  Mount Willing, Collirene, Clover Hill, Farmersville and Fostoria.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
