...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 11 PM EDT
THURSDAY...

* TIMING...Expect snow, heavy at times, and strong northeast
  winds, to develop after midnight and then continue through the
  day Thursday. Snowfall will taper off through Thursday evening
  while winds start to subside. The heaviest snowfall rates will 
  occur between 4 AM and noon Thursday. 

* AMOUNTS...Heaviest snow accumulations are expected southeast 
  of a line from Houghton Lake to Alpena where 6 to 9 inches are 
  expected. 

* IMPACTS...Strong winds of 40 mph or more and heavy snow will 
  reduce visibilities while driving. The strong winds and wet 
  snow could damage trees and cause power outages as well. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...sleet
and ice are expected. Strong winds are also possible.  This will
make travel very hazardous or impossible. For the latest road

* TIMING...Expect snow to develop after midnight, mixing with rain
  at times, then continue through the day Thursday. 

* AMOUNTS...Accumulations of 2 to 5 inches of snow, are expected
  with around an inch along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

* IMPACTS...Look for reduced visibilities at times and slushy 
  roads. Strong winds of 40 mph or more along with the wet snow 
  could cause tree damage and scattered power outages. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving. For the latest road conditions...go to the MDOT website

EVENING...
...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Gaylord has issued a WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY, which is in effect until 11 PM EDT this
evening. The WINTER STORM WARNING has been cancelled. 

* TIMING...Expect a mixture of rain and snow to gradually change
  over to snow this morning, especially inland from the immediate
  Lake Huron shoreline. Snow, or a rain and snow mix, will 
  continue through much of this afternoon

* AMOUNTS...Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches of snow are expected,
  with much less amounts closer to Lake Huron.

* IMPACTS...Look for reduced visibilities at times and slushy
  roads. Strong winds of 40 mph or more along with the wet snow
  could cause some minor tree damage and scattered power outages.
