The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Litchfield County in northern Connecticut...

* Until 1245 AM EDT

* At 940 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  heavy rain falling across the warned area. Up to an inch and a 
  half of rain has fallen so far today. Flash flooding is expected 
  to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Waterbury, Bristol, Torrington, Canton, Thomaston, New Hartford,
  Terryville, New Hartford Center, Northwest Harwinton, Oakville,
  Watertown, Plymouth, Harwinton, Barkhamsted, Pequabuck, Reynolds
  Bridge, Nepaug, Riverton, Hancock and Beech Rock.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

dangers of flooding.
