The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  West central Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico...
  North central Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...

* Until 700 PM MDT.

* At 406 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Around 1 to 2.5 inches of rain 
  has already fallen on the Rio Arriba and Sandoval County line 
  around 7 miles northeast of the Apache Nugget Casino. Storms 
  continue to develop over this area with up to a half inch of 
  additional rainfall possible. 

* Flash flooding is expected in drainages crossing Highway 550 from 
  9 miles southeast of the Apache Nugget Casino to the Casino 
  itself, and also in drainages crossing Route 537 from the Apache 
  Nugget Casino to the Canada Larga crossing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM MDT FOR
WEST CENTRAL RIO ARRIBA AND NORTH CENTRAL SANDOVAL COUNTIES...

At 518 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have ended 
across the warned area.  However, from 1 to 2.5 inches of rain fell 
around 7 miles northwest of the Apache Nugget Casino during the late 
afternoon. Dangerous runoff is expected to progress downstream 
through drainages crossing Highway 550 from mile marker 76 to 86, 
and crossing Route 537 from the Apache Nugget Casino to mile marker 
13.  

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
