A River Flood Warning has been issued for the Saint Johns River at Astor and Deland.

Major Hurricane Matthew will produce strong north winds that will push water up the river into the forcast point at Astor. The river is expected to crest at Astor near 4.6 feet on Friday afternoon, then drop below flood stage on Saturday evening. In addition, very heavy rainfall is forecast to bring the river to flood stage at Deland for a brief time on Friday evening.

For the St. Johns River at Astor, Major flooding is forecast.
For the St. Johns River at Deland, minor flooding is forecast.

A River Flood Warning remains in effect for...the Saint Johns River at
 Geneva, Deland and Astor.

Hurricane Matthew has brought locally heavy rainfall amounts of 4 to 7 inches
in the Saint Johns River basin from Lake Harney to Lake George. The runoff
from the rain will raise water levels along the Saint Johns into early next week.

Strong Northwest to North winds into early afternoon will cause substantial rises
on the Saint Johns River at Astor into mid afternoon with water levels decreasing
late in the afternoon and evening as winds become west to southwest. The water from
Lake George will inhibt flow and increase water levels on the south end of the Lake 
also at the Astor location along the Saint Johns River.

 A River Flood Warning remains in effect for...The St Johns River at
 Geneva and Astor.

A River Flood Warning has been cancelled for the St Johns River near Deland.

Hurricane Matthew has brought locally heavy rainfall amounts of 4 to 7 inches
in the Saint Johns River basin from Lake Harney to Lake George. The runoff
from the rain will raise water levels along the Saint Johns into next week.

Strong Northwest to North winds into early afternoon will continue to cause 
rises on the Saint Johns River at Astor into mid afternoon with water levels 
decreasing late in the afternoon and evening as winds become west to southwest. 
The water from Lake George will inhibit flow and increase water levels on the

The Flood Warning Continues For
  The St. Johns River Near Above Lake Harney Near Geneva.

*Minor Flooding is Forecast. 

*At 6.5 feet...Minor flooding to a few low lying areas along the river.

*At 7.0 feet...water approaches boat ramps, docks in Lake Jesup Park
and Mullet Lake Park.

*At 7.5 feet...Some docks, islands and small trees along the river north 
of Lake Harney will be covered with water. Boating hazard.

*At 8.0 feet...Water moves into yards on Prevatt Road off State Road 46
near Lake Harney. Flooding of boat ramps and roads ocurrs in Mullet Lake
Park.

*At 8.3 feet...Docks are partially submerged along the river between Lake 
Harney and Lemon Bluff.

*At 8.5 feet...Water surrounds homes on stilts on Prevatt Road, entering 
garages on the first story. Water fills yards and ditches along Whitcomb
Drive and Lake Harney Road. Roads flood in the Palm Shores and Mullet
Lake areas. 

*At 8.8 feet...Water covers Whitcomb Road.

  The St Johns River Near Deland. The river in this area is expected
  to crest around 4.0 feet early on Saturday with only a slight decrease
  into the middle of next week. This will be above Action Stage but
  slightly below flood stage.

island state park.

LYING HOMES NEAR THE RIVER. 

*AT 3.5 FEET...MODERATE FLOODING OCCURS WITH MANY YARDS AND STREETS 
ALONG THE RIVER AND WITH CANALS FLOODED, ENTERS THE FIRST FLOOR OF
LOW LYING HOMES. FLOODING TO DOCKS AND YARDS AT CONDOMINIUMS ON JUNO
TRAIL AND DOCKS AT ASTOR BRIDGE MARINA. ROADS FLOODED AT SOUTH MOON
