...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding will return to portions of the Wabash River
in western Indiana.  Rainfall in portions of northern Indiana
exceeded an inch since late Wednesday morning.

High water will return to some areas that flooded within the
past week and prolong high water from Terre Haute to Vincennes.
Flooding will continue to affect some local roads ... low
agricultural land and some river parks into the week of April 10.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  closed when the river experienced a minor rise after the Great June
  2008 flood:  SR 235 east of Medora to Covered Bridge, CR 300N east 
  of Honeytown to Shieldstown, CR 225W between CR 300N and Slab Road 
  River Bridge, CR 410W from US 50 to Vallonia, Newford Road, west 
  from Vehslage Road to the 5000 block east, CR 400E from Newford 
  Road south to Shieldstown, CR 150 E from CR 3000N to CR 4000N, CR 
  100E from CR 3000N to CR 4000N and CR 700E by CR 800N.

  rise to near 20.6 feet by Saturday evening.  The river will fall 
  below flood stage by Sunday before midnight.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on 
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22 
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

.Total rainfall of less than one-half inch fell in northern
Indiana since Sunday afternoon.  Little rain is expected today in
northern Indiana.  As a result the Wabash River and Wildcat Creek in
the Lafayette area are not expected to reach flood stage.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Be alert to flood debris on previously flooded roads. Keep children 
away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests 
should remain alert to changing river conditions.
