...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following streams in central and
southern Indiana...
East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...White River...Wabash
River...Wildcat Creek...
.Lowland flooding will develop along rivers and streams in central
and southern Indiana during the early days of April. At this time
...significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect some
local and state roads...low agricultural land and some river parks.
Flooding will begin on Friday.
Rainfall of one half to nearly 2 inches fell in portions of central
and southern Indiana since Wednesday afternoon. Additional rains of
one half to possibly an inch are expected by Friday morning. This
will cause river flooding similar to that experienced in February.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Lowland flooding will continue or develop along rivers and streams
in central and southern Indiana during the early days of April. At
this time...significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will
affect some local and state roads...low agricultural land and some
river parks.
Most locations in central Indiana saw between 0.60 and 0.90
inches of rain between early Wednesday evening and early Thursday
evening. Some areas saw rains up to nearly 2 inches with
the heaviest from far southeast Knox County to Jackson County. This
may cause river flooding similar to that experienced in February.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and

Indiana...
East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White
River...
Lowland flooding will continue or develop along rivers and streams
in central and southern Indiana during the early days of April. At
this time...significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will
affect some local and state roads...low agricultural land and some
river parks.
Most locations in central Indiana saw between 0.60 and 0.90
inches of rain between early Wednesday evening and early Thursday
evening. Some areas saw rains up to nearly 2 inches, with
the heaviest from far southeast Knox County to Jackson County. This
may cause river flooding similar to that experienced in February.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

* At 11:00 AM Saturday the stage was 16.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 16.8 feet by
tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage Wednesday
afternoon.
* At 17.0 feet...Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton Lake. Sheet
flowing water begins in the wetland project between U.S. 40 and
I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills about 75
percent.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 19.0
feet Tuesday evening.
* At 20.0 feet...Leaverton Park in Palestine and park in Hutsonville
begin to flood. Agricultural flooding spreads to higher land.
Seep water is noticeable behind levees. Some elevated river
cottages are surrounded by water. Several county or township roads
east of Lincoln Heritage Trail between Palestine and Hutsonville in
Crawford County Illinois are impassable.

* At 18.0 feet...Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High
water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is
by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive
flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois.

.The East Fork White River in southern Indiana in the
vicinity of Seymour fell below flood stage late this
afternoon and is expected to continue falling, reaching 8.6 feet by
Monday morning.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Be alert to flood debris on previously flooded roads. Keep children
away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests
should remain alert to changing river conditions.
