Counties
.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.
The latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the United
States Geological Survey.

* At 315 AM Friday the stage was 16.8 feet...and falling.
* Moderate flooding is occurring...and moderate flooding is
expected to continue.
* Flood stage is 11 feet.
* At 17 feet...Moderate flooding continues in the woodlands and
fields near the river upstream and downstream from the gage on
Henderson Mill Road. The water level reaches the foundation of
the elevated private residence just upstream and on the left
bank from the bridge. The garage and driveway will be under one
to two of water. Portions of Dixie Road near a bend in the
river...around one quarter mile from Henderson Mill Road...will
be flooded.

For the Chattahoochee River near Columbus.
* Until Sunday evening.
* At 315 AM Friday the stage was 30.5 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring...and Minor flooding is forecast to
continue.
* Flood stage is 27 feet.
* The river will continue rising...reaching near 31.5 feet later
this morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday afternoon.
* At 32 feet...Minor flooding continues to along the river upstream
and downstream from the gage on the 14th Street bridge. Large
portions of the River Walk in Columbus will be completely covered
with flowing water up to 5 feet deep and flood waters reach the
maintenance doors underneath the Columbus Convention and Trade
Center. The Phenix City Amphitheater in Alabama will be flooded
up to 4 feet deep and portions of the River Walk in Phenix City
will be under two feet of water.

* At 115 PM Friday the stage was 26.5 feet...and falling.
* Flood stage is 27 feet.
* The river will continue to fall.
* At 27 feet...Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding occurs of
woodlands and pasture upstream and downstream from the gage located
around one half mile upstream from the Georgia Highway 22 and 24
bridge. The parking lot and the riverside park just downstream from
the bridge will be completely flooded with water several feet deep.
Sinclair Dam will likely have three gates open to reach this
height.

* Until further notice
* At 115 PM Friday the stage was 24.1 feet...and rising.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 26.8 feet by tomorrow early
afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage late Wednesday
morning.
* At 27 feet...Major flooding continues. Most of Old Balls Ferry
Road north of Georgia Highway 57 will be under 3 to 5 feet of
water. The water level will be around two feet deep in the USGS
gage house near the boat ramp. This may affect data transmission.
Widespread flooding up to several feet deep of the woodlands near
the river occurs.

The Oconee River near Dublin.
* Until further notice.
* At 115 PM Friday the stage was 23.7 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 28.8 feet by Monday morning
then begin falling.
* At 30 feet...Major flooding begins with widespread inundation of
the woodlands and agricutural areas upstream and downstream from
the gage on U.S. Highway 80. The flood waters will be around 7 feet
deep on Rex Miller Road and Old River Lane. Several homes on these
roads and on River Ridge Road will be under 5 feet of water.
Additional roads such as Hudson Street...South Decatur Street and
Robert Plummer Road will begin to flood. Large portions of the
Riverview Park Golf Course will be flooded.

* At 1 PM Friday the stage was 19.7 feet...and falling.
* Minor flooding is occuring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 21.2 feet by Wednesday
morning then begin falling.
* At 21 feet...Significant flooding continues in the woodlands and
pastures upstream and downstream from the gage on U.S. Highway 280.
The lower portion of the access road to the boat ramp on the
Wheeler County side of the river is flooded. Around a dozen homes
on Dead River Road in the south end of Montgomery County become
flooded. Portions of Dead River Road will be covered by at least 3
feet of water.
