...The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a flood advisory
for the Russian River...

  Russian river near Hopland affecting Mendocino County 

Light to moderate rain today will result in a significant rise 
on the Russian River today. 1 to 2 inches of rain is
forecast through Sunday evening in the upper Russian River Basin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive your car across flooded roadways. It only takes about 
two feet of water to float most vehicles. For area road conditions...
call CALTRANS at 1-800-427-7623.

* from this afternoon to Monday morning.
* AT 9:00 AM Sunday the stage was 12.4 feet.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 21.0 feet.
* FORECAST...The river will rise to near 15.2 feet late this
  evening. Then forecast to recede to near 13 feet around

Rainfall amounts have been lower than expected and the Russian River
is expected to crest lower than earlier forecast. Showers will
continue this evening, but rainfall amounts will be less than an
additional half inch.
