...Forecast Flooding Changed from Minor to Moderate severity for the 
following rivers in Nebraska...

  North Platte River near Scotts Bluff County

.Hydrologic Summary...The combination of upstream reservior resleases 
due to mountain snowmelt in southeast Wyoming in addition to heavy
rainfall from thunderstorms recently will result in a continuation
of rising river levels through this weekend. River levels may stay
elevated into early next week as well.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flooded areas. Move to higher ground. The water 
may deep enough to float you and your vehicle. Turn around, don't 
drown.

* Impact...at 5.5 feet...Flood stage. Minor lowland flooding occurs. 
  Homes along the North Platte River will have water in their 
  basements.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 5.7 feet 
  on Jun 12 1995.

  feet of water along low lying areas. Low lying flooding intensifies
  at Riverside Park in Scottsbluff. Homes along the North Platte River
  from Mitchell to Scottsbluff are totally inundated with basement and
  overland flooding.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.5 feet 
  on May 26 1973.
