HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR ROUGH SURF AND A MODERATE RISK OF RIP
CURRENTS...WHICH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* HAZARDS...A LONG FETCH OF NORTHEAST WINDS ACROSS THE ATLANTIC
  WILL GENERATE ROUGH SURF IN THE SURF ZONE TODAY. ROUGH SURF CAN
  KNOCK YOU DOWN AND MAKE YOU SUSCEPTIBLE TO BEING CAUGHT IN A RIP
  CURRENT. A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS IS EXPECTED. 

* TIMING...6 AM TO 7 PM TODAY.

* LOCATION...EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA BEACHES.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...ROUGH SURF CAN OFTEN BE MUCH MORE DANGEROUS
  THAN IT APPEARS WHILE STANDING ON THE BEACH. HEAVY BREAKING
  WAVES CAN KNOCK YOU OFF A SANDBAR INTO DEEPER WATER...OR INTO
  LONGSHORE CURRENTS AND RIP CURRENTS. THE BEST SAFETY ADVICE IS
  TO ONLY ENTER THE SURF NEAR A LIFEGUARD.
