...The National Weather Service in Dodge City, Ks has issued a flood 
warning for the following rivers in Kansas...

  The Arkansas River At Coolidge affecting Hamilton County.

.Heavy rains overnight have led to rises on the river at Coolidge. The river is 
expected to exceed flood stage later this morning and this afternoon.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks...

Do not drive through flowing water or go around barricades.Nearly 
half of all flood fatalities are vehicle related.

Continue to monitor noaa all hazards radio or commercial broadcasts 
for further information.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City, Ks has issued a 

* Flood Warning for 
  The Arkansas River At Coolidge.
* until this evening.
* At  8:31 AM Monday the stage was 7.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue
  to rise to near 9.0 feet by this afternoon.the river will fall 
  below flood stage by late this afternoon.
* * Impact...At 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding in pastureland and 
  farmland adjacent to the river. Low water areas along the unpaved 
  River Road south of the Arkansas River will have water over the 
  road...Exercise extreme caution.
* * Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 7.4 
  feet on August 21 1952.
