* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
  STOREY COUNTY IN WESTERN NEVADA...
  SOUTH CENTRAL WASHOE COUNTY IN WESTERN NEVADA...

* UNTIL 800 PM PDT

* AT 710 PM PDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
  LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE
  HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.  THESE STORMS WERE  
  LOCATED ALONG A LINE FROM 15 MILES NORTHEAST OF VIRGINIA CITY TO   
  11 MILES SOUTHEAST OF RENO TO VIRGINIA CITY...AND MOVING NORTHWEST 
  AT 30 MPH.

* LOCATIONS AFFECTED INCLUDE...LOCKWOOD...VIRGINIA CITY AND THE      
  GEIGER GRADE SUMMIT

PONDING WATER ON AREA ROADWAYS ESPECIALLY ON THE GEIGER GRADE AND 
AROUND VIRGINIA CITY. DRIVERS SHOULD SLOW DOWN IF ENCOUNTERING HEAVY 
RAINS...AND REMEMBER TO TURN ON THEIR HEADLIGHTS.

AT 730 PM PDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO 
INDICATE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL 
AND VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER CENTRAL STOREY COUNTY...MOVING TO THE 
NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.  

AHEAD OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS...STRONG WINDS HAVE SPREAD ACROSS THE 
RENO-SPARKS VICINITY AND INTERSTATE 80 EAST TO FERNLEY. GUSTS UP TO 
60 MPH WITH AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE IN THESE 
AREAS THROUGH 8 PM.  

FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS.
