...MODERATE TO NEAR HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK FOR SATURDAY...

.PROLONGED WAVE PERIODS OF AROUND 8 SECONDS WILL DIMINISH LATER
TODAY AND SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH. HOWEVER...SUSTAINED
ONSHORE FLOW FOR THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS ALONG WITH PROXIMITY TO A
NEW MOON WILL INCREASE THE RIP CURRENT RISK TO ABOVE NORMAL
VALUES.

...RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

ALTHOUGH THE RIP CURRENT RISK IS SLIGHTLY LOWER TODAY THAN
YESTERDAY...PROLONGED WAVE PERIODS OF 7 TO 8 SECONDS...PERSISTENT
ONSHORE FLOW AND PROXIMITY TO A NEW MOON WILL COMBINE WITH
MODERATE WAVE HEIGHTS TO PRODUCE A MODERATE TO NEARLY HIGH RIP
CURRENT RISK TODAY AND THIS EVENING. SINCE THIS IS THE JULY 4TH
HOLIDAY WEEKEND...MANY SWIMMERS MAY BE INEXPERIENCED TO THE RISK
OF RIP CURRENTS...ESPECIALLY NEAR PIERS AND JETTIES WHERE RIP
CURRENTS ARE OFTEN THE STRONGEST.

THE CONCERN FOR RIP CURRENTS WILL CONTINUE TO SLOWLY DECREASE THIS
HOLIDAY WEEKEND...DUE TO WEAKER WINDS...LOWER WAVES AND SHORTER
PERIODS. HOWEVER...THE RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS WILL LIKELY BE
MODERATE THROUGH AT LEAST SUNDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RIP CURRENTS POSE A DANGER TO ANYONE IN THE WATER. IF YOU DECIDE
TO ENTER THE WATER TODAY...DO NOT VENTURE BEYOND THE FIRST SAND
BAR AND STAY AWAY FROM PIERS AND JETTIES. ALSO...DO NOT SWIM ALONE
ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A LESS EXPERIENCED SWIMMER.

IF YOU ARE CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...DO NOT PANIC. SWIM PARALLEL
TO THE BEACH IN ORDER TO SWIM OUT OF THE RIP CURRENT WHICH IS
TYPICALLY A NARROW STREAM OF WATER. ONCE OUT OF THE CURRENT SWIM
BACK TO SHORE.
