  EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN LOS ALAMOS COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
  EAST CENTRAL SANDOVAL COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 545 PM MDT

* AT 343 PM MDT...LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLASH FLOODING
  FROM A THUNDERSTORM 9 MILES EAST OF JEMEZ SPRINGS...OR ABOUT 16
  MILES SOUTHWEST OF LOS ALAMOS. THE STORM PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING
  WAS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AT LESS THAN 10 MPH. HOURLY
  RAINFALL RATES NEAR ONE INCH ARE LIKELY OVER A BROAD AREA EXTENDING
  FROM THE DOME WILDERNESS TO UPPER PERALTA CANYON TO BORREGO CANYON
  SOUTHEAST OF PONDEROSA. 

  THIS WILL IMPACT THE LAS CONCHAS BURN SCAR INCLUDING BUT NOT
  LIMITED TO BANDELIER NATIONAL MONUMENT...FRIJOLES CANYON...COCHITI
  CANYON...PERALTA CANYON...HIGHWAY 4 FROM STATE ROAD 501 JUNCTION TO
  LAS CONCHAS CAMPGROUND AND DOME WILDERNESS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RUNOFF FROM RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED WATER LEVELS WITHIN
VULNERABLE DRAINAGES IN AND DOWNSTREAM OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN
PORTIONS OF THE LAS CONCHAS BURN SCAR.

ARROYOS...STREAMS AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES CAN BECOME RAGING CURRENTS
IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.
