* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHEASTERN ALPINE COUNTY IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...

* UNTIL 715 PM PDT

* AT 516 PM PDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM A STATIONARY THUNDERSTORM NEAR BOULDER PEAK  
  ABOUT 8 MILES NORTH OF SONORA PASS.

* THE STORM PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WILL REMAIN NEAR BOULDER PEAK.

FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT DUE TO VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER STEEP 
TERRAIN NEAR THE HEAD WATERS OF THE EAST FORK OF THE CARSON RIVER IN 
THE VICINITY OF BOULDER PEAK. 

VERY FAST AND DANGEROUS FLOWS ARE LIKELY IN THE WARNED AREA.  BACK 
COUNTRY ROADS AND HIKING TRAILS MAY BE WASHED OUT.

SOUTHEASTERN ALPINE COUNTY...

AT 613 PM PDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO 
INDICATE A THUNDERSTORM NEAR BOULDER PEAK ABOUT 8 MILES NORTH OF 
SONORA PASS.  

THE THUNDERSTORM HAS WEAKENED...BUT IS STILL PRODUCING MODERATE TO 
HEAVY RAIN OVER THE WARNED AREA.  ADDITIONAL STORMS ARE DEVELOPING 
OVER HIGHWAY 4 NEAR EBBETTS PASS AND COULD MOVE OVER THE WARNING 
AREA IN THE NEXT HOUR.

ESTIMATED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IN THE LAST 90 MINUTES 
OVER THE STEEP TERRAIN NEAR BOULDER PEAK AND THE HEAD WATERS OF THE 
EAST FORK OF THE CARSON RIVER.  THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY 
CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS...ROCK SLIDES...AND WASH OUT BACK 
COUNTRY ROADS AND HIKING TRAILS.
