THE RIP CURRENT RISK HAS BEEN REPORTED AS HIGH THIS MORNING AT THE
NEW JERSEY SHORE. WAVES IN THE SURF ZONE WERE 4 TO 5 FEET AND
THERE WAS A VERY STRONG SOUTH TO NORTH CURRENT. 

A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS MEANS DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE 
THREATENING CONDITIONS EXIST FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ENTER THE SURF.
PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE WATER WHILE THE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS
REMAINS HIGH. 

THE RISK IS FORECAST TO DIMINISH TO MODERATE THIS AFTERNOON. 
A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS IMPLIES THAT INDIVIDUALS PLANNING 
TO ENTER THE SURF SHOULD CHECK WITH LOCAL BEACH PATROLS FIRST.
