THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ANOKA COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...
  HENNEPIN COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...
  RAMSEY COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...
  DAKOTA COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...

* UNTIL 600 AM CDT

* AT 253 AM CDT...RADAR DETECTED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY 
MOVING EASTWARD INTO HENNEPIN AND ANOKA COUNTIES. THE STORMS 
PRODUCING THE HEAVIEST RAIN WERE EXTENDING FROM 9 MILES SOUTHWEST OF 
PRINCETON TO 25 MILES WEST OF MINNEAPOLIS.  THESE STORMS WERE MOVING 
EAST AT 40 MPH. ESTIMATES FROM RADAR INDICATED THAT NEARLY 2 INCHES 
OF RAIN HAS FALLEN DURING THE PAST HOUR OVER AREAS JUST TO THE WEST 
OF THE TWIN CITIES METRO AREA. THESE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE 
FURTHER EAST ACROSS THE METRO AREA OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO AND 
PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL AND LOCALIZED FLOODING...ESPECIALLY ON 
ROADWAYS AND LOW LYING AREAS SUCH AS UNDERPASSES.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT MAY BE AFFECTED INCLUDE...ANDOVER...ANOKA...
  ARDEN HILLS...BLAINE...BROOKLYN PARK...COON RAPIDS AND EAGAN.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO
FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
