  SOUTHEASTERN LEA COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO...

* UNTIL 1045 PM MDT

* AT 734 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED
  SLOW MOVING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY 
  RAINFALL ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN LEA COUNTY...NEAR THE COMMUNITY OF
  JAL. RADAR AND SATELLITE DATA ESTIMATES THAT UP TO 2 INCHES OF
  RAIN HAVE FALLEN IN THESE LOCATIONS SINCE 615 PM MDT. THE JAL
  POLICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THAT FLOODING WAS BEGINNING TO OCCUR
  IN JAL...AND WERE BEGINNING TO BLOCK OFF ROADS IN TOWN.

AT 858 PM MDT...THE JAL POLICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THAT FLOODING 
CONTINUED AT THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH THIRD STREET AND WHITWORTH 
STREET...AND SOUTH THIRD AND MONTANA STREET IN JAL.

AT 953 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED 
THAT THE STORMS HAVE ENDED ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN LEA COUNTY. 
HOWEVER...RUNOFF FROM THE EARLIER HEAVY RAINS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE 
TO BRING FLOODING ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN LEA FOR THE NEXT ONE TO TWO 
HOURS.
