NEBRASKA THOUGH THIS EVENING...

.STRONG LOW LEVEL PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL BE PLACE ACROSS MUCH OF
THE PLAINS TODAY. LOW PRESSURE WILL DEEPEN ACROSS WESTERN DAKOTAS
THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON THANKS TO A STRONG SYSTEM MOVING INTO THE
ROCKIES. HIGH PRESSURE ANCHORED OVER THE GREAT LAKES REGION WILL
KEEP STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS IN PLACE ACROSS THE PLAINS UNTIL THE
UPPER SYSTEM MOVES INTO WESTERN NEBRASKA AND PUSHES A COLD FRONT
ACROSS THE STATE. WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS BEHIND THIS FRONT MAY

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTH PLATTE HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM CDT /6 AM MDT/ THIS
MORNING TO 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING. 

WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA WILL BE SQUEEZED BETWEEN STRONG
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT LAKES REGION AND DEEPENING LOW
PRESSURE OVER THE HIGH PLAINS. THIS WILL LEAD TO SOUTHERLY WINDS
OF 25 TO 35 MPH TODAY...WITH SOME WIND GUSTS APPROACHING 50 MPH
EXPECTED OVER NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. ADDITIONAL STRONG WINDS
MAY BE EXPERIENCED LATER INTO THE EVENING AND EARLY MORNING HOURS AS
A COLD FRONT MOVES INTO WESTERN NEBRASKA...THOUGH WINDS WILL BE
SWITCHING TO THE WEST AND NORTHWEST BEHIND THIS FRONT.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS
THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH

STRONG WINDS IN ADVANCE OF THE APPROACHING COLD FRONT HAVE
DIMINISHED TO 15 TO 25 MPH. AS THE FRONT CONTINUES TO PUSH EAST
INTO WESTERN NEBRASKA THIS EVENING WINDS WILL FURTHER DIMINISH
WITH THE WIND ADVISORY CANCELLED.
