CURRENT STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS OF 40 TO 45 MPH JUST OFF THE SURFACE OF COASTAL AREAS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS SHOULD MIX DOWN TO THE SURFACE BY MID MORNING TODAY...BRINGING SUSTAINED WINDS BETWEEN 30 AND 35 MILES PER HOUR...WITH GUSTS OVER 40 MPH ...AT TIMES TODAY. ALL OF CAMERON...WILLACY...EASTERN HIDALGO AND KENEDY COUNTIES WILL EXPERIENCE STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS TODAY...INCLUDING SOUTH PADRE ISLAND AND COASTAL CITIES. THESE WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS...UNTIL A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE IN THE TEXAS PANHANDLE FILLS BY EARLY EVENING. SPRING BREAKERS ALONG THE BEACHES OF SOUTH PADRE ISLAND SHOULD PLAN ON VERY WINDY CONDITIONS AND DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS GENERATED BY THESE STRONG WINDS. SWIM AND RECREATE WITH CAUTION THIS AFTERNOON. A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 39 MILES PER HOUR WILL OCCUR FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR.
