* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

  BALDWIN COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA

* UNTIL 545 PM CDT

* AT 338 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM A THUNDERSTORM NEAR BETWEEN ROBERTSDALE AND  
MONTROSE...OR ABOUT 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF DOWNTOWN MOBILE. THE STORM 
PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN WAS NEARLY STATIONARY OVER WEST CENTRAL 
BALDWIN COUNTY.

* THE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WILL EFFECT AREAS            
  IN AND AROUND...MONTROSE AND DAPHNE BY THROUGH 545 PM CDT

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 4 INCHES IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME ARE
LIKELY OVER THE WARNED AREA.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES...AS WELL AS
OTHER POUR DRAINAGE AND LOW LYING AREAS.

RESIDENTS LIVING IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. REMEMBER...IT ONLY
TAKES A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
