THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN MARION COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL OHIO
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF MARION
  MORROW COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL OHIO
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF MOUNT GILEAD

* UNTIL 500 AM EDT THURSDAY

* AT 1048 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED 
SHOWERS CONTINUING OVER PARTS OF MARION AND MORROW COUNTIES ALTHOUGH 
THE SHOWERS APPEARRED TO BE WEAKENING.

MANY ROADS IN THE NORTHERN PARTS OF THESE COUNTIES HAVE HIGH WATER 
ON THE ROADS AND SOME ROADS ARE CLOSED.  A CAR WAS SWEPT OFF COUNTY 
ROAD 38 IN EXTREME NORTHERN MORROW COUNTY BY THE FLOOD WATERS.

AS THE SHOWERS END...THE FLOOD WATERS SHOULD BEGIN TO SLOWLY RECEDE 
LATER TONIGHT.  MOTORISTS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR HIGH WATER ACROSS 
NORTHERN MARION AND MORROW COUNTIES. REMEMBER NEVER ATTEMPT TO DRIVE 
THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS...TURN AROUND AND DONT DROWN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL ALSO CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...POORLY DRAINED HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES...AND 
LOW LYING COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS.

...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 AM EDT FOR
MORROW AND SOUTHERN MARION COUNTIES...

AT 142 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THE 
THUNDERSTORMS THAT PRODUCED THE FLASH FLOODING OVER THE WARNED AREA 
HAVE WEAKENED AND MOVED SOUTH.

FLASH FLOODING IS STILL LIKELY OVER THE WARNED AREA AS WATER FROM 
THE EARLIER RAINFALL CONTINUES TO RUN OFF INTO STREAMS AND CREEKS.

LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO MOUNT GILEAD
AND MARION

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. TURN AROUND... DONT DROWN

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FLOOD WATERS. ONLY A FEW INCHES OF
RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN QUICKLY CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE.
