* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN MONROE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA

* UNTIL 515 PM EDT

* AT 228 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THAT TWO TO THREE INCHES OF HEAVY RAIN HAS FALLEN SO FAR ALONG
  THE PIKE AND MONROE COUNTY BORDER AND HAS AFFECTED THE HEADWATERS 
  OF THE BRODHEAD CREEK THE MOST.
  
  THUNDERSTORMS ARE NEARLY STATIONARY AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL 
  AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA AND WILL
  AFFECT BARRETT AND COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIPS THE HARDEST.

MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS WATER COVERED BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS. NEVER 
TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO 
ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

MONROE COUNTY...

AT 324 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THAT THE THUNDERSTORMS THAT PRODUCED THE TORRENTIAL RAIN ALONG THE 
MONROE AND PIKE COUNTY BORDER HAVE WEAKENED AND THE HEAVY RAIN
HAS ENDED. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT UP TO FOUR INCHES OF RAIN 
HAS FALLEN NEAR THE PIKE COUNTY BORDER IN COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP.

PLEASE BE WARY FOR RUNOFF FROM THE HEAVY RAIN IN STREAMS ESPECIALLY 
NEAR THE PIKE COUNTY BORDER. THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAS MOVED INTO 
LACKAWANNA COUNTY AND AS LONG AS NO ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN 
OCCURS...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL NOT BE EXTENDED.
