THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WRIGHT COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA

* UNTIL 1215 AM CDT

* AT 910 PM CDT...RADAR DETECTED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY
  RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF THE WARNED AREA. THE STORMS PRODUCING THE
  HEAVIEST RAIN WERE OVER BUFFALO...OR ABOUT 24 MILES NORTHWEST OF   
  EXCELSIOR. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.
  WEATHER RADAR ESTIMATES RAINFALL RATES NEAR TWO AND ONE HALF       
  INCHES PER HOUR WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS. 

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT MAY BE AFFECTED INCLUDE...ALBERTVILLE...       
  ANNANDALE...COKATO...DELANO...HOWARD LAKE...MAPLE LAKE...BUFFALO   
  AND MONTICELLO.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNED AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.

WRIGHT COUNTY...

AT 1053 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED CONTINUING 
LIGHT RAIN OVER WRIGHT COUNTY WITH SOME EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS. THE 
HEAVIEST RAINS HAVE MOVED EAST BUT LINGERING FLOOD PROBLEMS CAN BE 
ANTICIPATED. 

DRAINAGE DITCHES AND SMALL STREAMS MAY CONTINUE TO CARRY RUNOFF. LOW 
LYING AREAS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TO COLLECT PONDING WATER. DO NOT 
DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES PUT IN PLACE BY LAW ENFORCEMENT TO BLOCK 
UNSAFE ROADS. 

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE
INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. TWO FEET OF RUSHING WATER
CAN CARRY AWAY MOST VEHICLES INCLUDING SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND
PICKUPS. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
