THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

  ESCAMBIA COUNTY IN NORTHWEST FLORIDA

* UNTIL 730 PM CST

* AT 540 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TRAINING   
  FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS MAINLY THE CENTRAL PORTIONS OF ESCAMBIA   
  COUNTY. THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE PRODUCING PERIODS OF 
  HEAVY RAIN OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. 

* THE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WILL EFFECT AREAS...
  NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE I-10 CORRIDOR...ESPECIALLY AROUND THE       
  COMMUNITIES OF ENSLEY...GONZALEZ...CONTONMENT AND COTTAGE HILL     
  THROUGH 730 PM CST.

RADAR AND AREA OBSERVATIONS HAVE INDICATED THAT AT LEAST 3 TO 5 
INCHES OF RAINFALL HAVE FALLEN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA OVER THE PAST 
3 HOURS. NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FLOODED ROADWAYS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED 
ACROSS THE COUNTY...AND ANOTHER 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS LIKELY 
OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.  

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES...AS WELL AS 
OTHER POUR DRAINAGE AND LOW LYING AREAS.

RESIDENTS LIVING IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. REMEMBER...IT ONLY
TAKES A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
