THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  VERMILION PARISH IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA

* UNTIL 1230 PM CDT

* AT 924 AM CDT...THE VERMILION PARISH SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTED ONLY 
  MINOR FLOODING ALONG HIGHWAY 14 BETWEEN GUEYDAN AND KAPLAN. 
  HOWEVER NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED UP TO 8 
  INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN SINCE 5 AM THIS MORNING. ADDITIONAL VERY 
  SLOW-MOVING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING NORTH OF 
  HIGHWAY 14 WHICH WILL DRIFT SOUTHEAST ACROSS THESE COMMUNITIES AND 
  COULD PRODUCE AN ADDITIONAL 2 OR MORE INCHES OF RAIN...WHICH WILL 
  ONLY AGGRAVATE THE MINOR FLOODING CONDITIONS.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO   
  KAPLAN...MEAUX...ABBEVILLE...FORKED ISLAND...INTRACOASTAL 
  CITY...HENRY...  ERATH AND DELCAMBRE.

HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS AND LOW LYING AREAS RAPIDLY...SO DO NOT DRIVE
YOUR VEHICLE WHERE WATERS OF AN UNKNOWN DEPTH COVERS THE ROAD.
